Dapitan City · Zamboanga del Norte

A cove that keeps its own hours.

Thirty minutes from Dipolog Airport, the road ends and a private beach begins. One hundred and sixty rooms in bamboo and capiz shell. Nine kitchens. A zipline that clears the whole bay in under a minute.

First light

Everything is inside the bay.

Dakak sits on its own stretch of sand in Barangay Taguilon, hills closing around it on three sides and the Sulu Sea on the fourth. Guests do not commute to the things they came for. The dive boat, the golf tee, the horses and the last bar of the night are all a walk from the room.

The buildings were made from what the province already had — bamboo frames, hardwood, and capiz shell set into the windows, so the light indoors arrives softened and the colour of the shell itself.

Mid-morning

Six ways to wake up.

Every room is air-conditioned, with a private bath, mini-bar, writing table and an umbrella by the door. What changes is how close you are to the water — and how much of the day you can spend without shoes.
